Inconel 600

It is a heat-resistant alloy containing nickel as the main component, adding 15% chromium, 6-7% iron, 2.5% titanium, and less than 1% aluminum, manganese, and silicon. It has good heat resistance, does not oxidize even in an oxidizing air stream of 900℃ or higher, and does not immerse in the atmosphere containing sulfur. Various properties such as elongation, tensile strength, and yield point are also excellent in mechanical properties such as most of them do not change up to about 600℃, and they do not corrode organic substances and salt solutions.

Type Analysis

Description

Inconel 600 is a non-magnetic nickel-base high temperature alloy with a good combination of high strength, hot and cold workability, and resistance to common forms of corrosion.
In addition, the alloy has excellent heat resistance and does not undergo aging or stress corrosion over the full range of annealing to low to medium temperature operating conditions.

Applications

Common applications include:

barge and tank truck liners
carburizing atmosphere
Ethylene Dichloride Crackers
Brazier tray, muffler, hanger
Gasoline stabilizer production
MgCl2 evaporates
phenol condenser
soap making
titanium dioxide
Vegetable and Fatty Acid Containers

Corrosion Resistance

The high chromium content of Inconel 600 provides significantly better oxidation resistance than pure nickel, while the high nickel content provides good corrosion resistance under reducing conditions.
This alloy exhibits a high degree of resistance to stress and salt water, exhaust gases, and most organic acids and compounds.
